A kitten is dropped in a sack out of a car and rolls down a hill, to arrive at the door of Clyde and Matilda Mouse. Matilda thinks the kitten is heaven-sent and wants to keep him, and Clyde reluctantly agrees. But the kitten doesn�t eat cheese and needs human companionship, and within weeks of their adopting the kitten, Clyde convinces Matilda that the kitten belongs with people. They leave the kitten on a lady�s doorstep. A year later, on their �son�s� birthday, Clyde and Matilda decide to visit him at his new home, and though the fully-grown cat remembers his adoptive rodent parents, his mistress doesn�t like the presence of two mice in her home.
