The Wind in the Willows: Although Christmas itself has passed, the festivities are still underway, and Toad has invited his friends to a fancy dress party at Toad Hall. Badger dresses as an Indian Raja, having once received a set of robes as a gift from a real Raja on his Indian travels. Mole, meanwhile, dons the costume of a Red Indian chief; Ratty decides to be an Admiral; and Otter attends the party as a fishmonger, complete with baskets of real fish. The weasels have also been invited, and decide to use their invitation to pull off yet another thieving scheme. All the weasels dress as burglars (with the exception of the Chief, who dresses as a policeman for secret reasons), and throughout the party evening, they pilfer jewellery, wallets, watches and cutlery from the other guests - actions that they can explain, if necessary, as a charade of burgling. All the while, the guests suspect nothing, but are puzzled by the disappearance of their possessions, and also by the curious absence of Toad, who promised to make a surprise appearance at the party. The weasels also receive some surprises during the evening, as the suit of armour in which they deposit their swagg seems to be haunted. But when they finally try to make their escape with the laden armour, all the mysteries of the evening are unfurled at once, including even that of the Chief Weasel's policeman disguise!
