Little House on the Prairie: In 1865 (the same year that Mary Ingalls was born), longtime boxer Joe Kagan is physically reaching the end of his career, but when he refuses to give it up and search for a new job elsewhere, his exasperated wife takes their young son and leaves. Fourteen years later, the man is still plugging along as a fighter, and he is scheduled to appear in Walnut Grove, where his cold-blooded manager is offering monetal rewards to anyone who can survive three minutes with Joe in the boxing ring. Pushed by Jonathan Garvey into entering, Charles ends up succeeding Joe in strength on the big night, leading him to serious illness, and when Doc Baker makes it clear that Joe's life will be over if he doesn't stop fighting immediately, a guilt-ridden Charles takes it upon himself to nurse the stubborn man back to health. A few months later, a much healthier Joe is ready to settle in Walnut Grove and reclaim his soul, but when he comes across an unexpected person from his past, it just might be enough to pull him back in the game.
