Horizon: Part One of Two. Report on how scientists' search for life on Mars has been spurred on by recently discovered evidence of what may be ancient river and lake beds. Some experts speculate that these once teemed with bacteria, but so far there is no proof of this or that any survived the planet's descent into a frozen desert. Recent discoveries in Antarctica, however, have shown that life may survive in freezing temperatures for millions of years, so the hunt is on again.
