The Flying Doctors : Geoff and Kate prepare to celebrate their big day: the birth of their first child. Meanwhile Geoff has a visit from an old paediatrician friend Colin. When the baby is born, it's a daughter: Scarlett Louisa. But she is ill and needs an operation. The person who is best qualified for the job is Colin but unfortunately he is an alcoholic. Kate discovers his drinking problem and doesn't want him to perform the procedure. However if Scarlett does not get the operation soon, she will die. Geoff and Kate are left with no other option than to put their new born daughter into the hands of Colin.
