Joy is understandably distraught but after some gentle cajoling from Emer and the team she agrees to make the trip. She and Stan pack their bags and make the commute to a caravan park Joy and her parents used to stay at to visit relatives. Joy finds herself feeling uncomfortable as she watches Stan and Christie's flirty goodbye. She feels even worse when she realises that Christie and Trish have made plans to hang out WITHOUT HER. She's away on a work trip, but still. 

When they arrive at the caravan park Stan explains that they're here to meet a distant relative of Joy's called Maeve and Joy realises she knows her! They were friends one summer! 

Maeve runs a sea-swimming group called Sea You Next Tuesday and she and Stan manage to convince Joy to take part. Joy hates it, but also kind of loves it? 

Later that night when Stan's caravan has a leaky roof and they are forced to share, Joy remembers just how much fun she had with Maeve that summer, and it dawns on her that she is the reason they never stayed in touch.
